Hello, and welcome to Seadog Sailing and Kayaking!
We are situated at Schooner Cove Marina, within 20 minutes drive of your suite at Tigh-Na-Mara. The spectacularly scenic Ballenas/Winchelsea Island Archipelagos are right on our marine "doorstep." We are open eight months of the year, from March through to the end of October. However, we can be available for requested lessons and outings in November and February by appointment. We have access to a training pool (outdoor) in the cooler months for kayak rescue lessons. Our hours of operation are from 09:00 to sunset, seven days per week during the season outlined above.  We offer fun and informal kayaking classes for beginner and intermediate paddlers. Our lessons are offered in two formats - 1 1/2 hour "beginner only," for those with absolutely no prior experience who wish to get a taste of sea kayaking without venturing into open ocean - and 3 hour "Introduction to Sea kayaking" which includes a two-hour guided paddle to a local island. We also provide guided outings to the nearby island groups for those who have marine wildlife and other scenic viewing in mind. These guided trips are available for periods of two hours, four hours, or full-day tours. We can provide lunch and non-alcoholic beverages for a nominal fee of $15 Cdn per person on four hour and full-day trips. Groups of 8 or more participants who book together are eligible for discounted rates. Kayak rentals (singles) are available to experienced paddlers who have at least one session of self-rescue training under their belts. Double kayaks, with their greater inherent stability, are available to less experienced paddlers.
 In addition to kayak lessons, adventures and rentals, we also have sailing and powerboat excursions available.We can book you and your group on captained charters of three hours or more (five-hour minimum for the 43' Ketch). Our contract charter fleet consists of two sailing vessels - one 28' Sloop (maximum five persons), one 43' Ketch (maximum 10 persons), and one powerboat of 28 feet (6 persons maximum). All vessels are safety approved and able to provide hot or cold lunches, barbeques, and dinners (additional fees for provisions may apply).
