POSITION TITLE: Senior Host / Hostess
DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage
REPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Service Manager, Outlets Manager, F&B Director

Responsible for welcoming and warmly greeting guests arriving and departing cedars Restaurant & Lounge. Handles reservations requests, manages the efficient and timely seating of guests and assists to control the flow of the dining room.
Warmly and graciously greets all guests upon arrival
Practices guest recognition, remembering guests name and preferences, initiating the dining experience with a personalized touch.
Seats guests based on established guidelines and guest preferences while balancing customer flow into service stations.
Accommodates special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
When immediate seating is limited, manages the waiting list, providing guests with estimated waiting time.
Informs server and managers of special requests and pertinent information pertaining to guests.
Upon seating, offers guests a menu and informs them that their server will be there shortly.
Relays messages to servers and server assistants as needed.
Monitors and observes guests dining experience.
Thanks guests upon leaving, inviting them to return and soliciting feedback on their experience.
Answers all telephone calls for the restaurant.
Responsible for upkeep and accuracy of reservation system
Ensures all seating areas are set up according to plan.
Ensures all menus are up-to-date, clean and free of tears, stains or other damages.
Knowledgeable on all food and beverage products and services.
Responds promptly and courteously to any requests.
Ready and willing to assist servers and server assistants as situations arise.
Learn basics of the POS System as to assist the floor staff.
Available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation as directed by management.
Performs other job-related duties as needed.
Education, Skills & Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience with OpenTable or Bookenda would be considered an asset
Impeccable grooming and presentation
Completely fluent English language skills; both written and verbal
Clear, precise, professional and helpful telephone manner
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize with a high level of responsibility and commitment
Team player with proven success in relationship building with a commitment to provide excellent service and exceed guests' expectations
Comprehensive and current knowledge of local attractions, events, restaurants and transportation information
Ability to anticipate guest needs
Knowledge of organizing reservations and service flows
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Previous experience as a server or bartender or server assistant in a restaurant
Able to lift at least 20 pounds
Ability to stand for 8 hours
