Area Activities

The Resort sits above three kilometers of sandy beach and the warmest ocean swimming in Canada. Visitors to our beach can enjoy wildlife viewing, beachcombing or just sitting back and taking in the beautiful view of the Strait of Georgia and distant Coast Mountains.

Forest, ocean and riverside hiking and mountain biking trails are all accessible from the Resort, and the mild Vancouver Island climate allows for year-round golfing at one of the six golf courses in the area.

Explore the incredible old-growth forest of Cathedral Grove, peruse the many art galleries in the area or tee up at one of our partner golf courses. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the many local hiking and mountain biking trails, or hit the world class ski slopes of Mount Washington. All less than a one hour drive, Tigh-Na-Mara's location offers something for everyone.

Horne Lake Caves

We've Got Wow!

Horne Lake features crystal-clear water and two spectacular parks. Outdoor lovers can experience Vancouver Island's coolest adventures like exploring caves, kayaking, canoeing, rock-climbing or the Challenge Obstacle Course. Choose from easy family cavern tours to a three hour Spelunking Adventure or, the more challenging four and five hour tours featuring a rappel down a seven storey underground waterfall!

Milner Gardens & Woodland

Stroll the winding pathways and magical surroundings of an ancient coastal Douglas fir forest. Find peace and tranquility as you meander the woodland gardens lined with rhododendrons, cyclamen and trilliums. Enjoy a traditional English tea service while you contemplate the history of the house where the Queen once stayed.

Open April to mid October Thursday to Sunday, seven days a week May to Labour Day.
